I recently listened to a friend’s podcast and it saddened me. This person is a good friend and the podcast was hard to listen to. I hung in there because I wanted to be able to talk about the content. But it was painful.
There are a two factors that can work against us when it comes to producing a podcast. First is the sheer volume of competition in the podcast landscape. Estimates on the number of podcasts available range from two to over five million shows. These have produced tens of millions of episodes. When we get listeners, it so important to hold onto them.
Which introduces the second (and most important) factor to keep a person listening when hey have tuned in. Or what will drive them away. Audio production quality.
