How we end a communication matters. As an executive communicator, how you end a presentation, address, interview, memo...any communication activity...is paramount. It can determine if your desired outcome has a chance of being achieved. Earlier this year we witnessed an example of what not to do. This is the now infamous ninety seconds addressing concerns by some of MillerKnoll's employees about their bonus by their CEO. The substance was fine. The delivery missed the mark. We do a brief analysis of this address. Then we dive further into tips and perspectives on how to best end a speech and other communication activities.
Starting well matters, but ending strong is everything.
